Mozilla Ships Final Firefox 4 Beta

Mozilla released what it claims to be the final beta of Firefox 4. 9 bugs are left to be fixed for Firefox 4 RC.
There is light at the end of the tunnel. After more than 7000 patched bugs, Mozilla released Firefox 4 Beta 12, which the company says will be the final Beta of the new browser. There are pre-Beta 13 builds on Mozilla’s FTP server, but this is merely a result of Mozilla’s automated release process and there will be no official Beta 13 of Firefox 4, Mozilla’s Christian Legnitto said.

Beta 12 was released ahead of the expected release early next week, while the browser is now about four months behind schedule. Mozilla decided to “kill” its blocking bugs list. At the time of the release of Firefox 4 Beta 12 late Friday, there were 12 open bugs that needed to be fixed for RC. This morning we saw 9 open bugs, giving us some hope that we ma see Firefox RC in early March and a final version by the end of March.
