Iphone Camera APP T0 Take Photos And Store Directly In Cloud

IceCream is a free iPhone camera app to take photos and store them directly to the cloud. It helps you free up your iPhone’s space by backing up all your photos to the cloud (IceCream secure cloud) directly. The best part is that it leaves low resolution version of the photos in your phone as well, so that you can anytime see the photos. Those photos occupy very less space on your phone. Original high resolution photos can be downloaded from the cloud anytime you want. Best of all the worlds.

Another interesting feature of the app is that it actually comes with its own built-in camera. So, if you take a photo using its camera, the photo is automatically uploaded to its cloud, and optimized version of the photo is left on your phone.

The following screenshot shows the photos stored in the IceCream cloud.
The app tells you that how much space you have left for taking photos and how much space you can free up by uploading your photos online. It comes with a built-in camera using which you can take high-resolution photos and store them directly to the IceCream cloud absolutely free. You can take more photos than usual, as all the photos taken by the IceCream camera will be stored in the app without eating up your iPhone’s storage. No more deleting photos, as you can use this amazing app to free up iPhone’s space by storing the photos to the cloud. It works exactly like other iPhone apps, which enable you to sync photos to the cloud.

Similar to the core cloud services, “IceCream” provides one of the best and secure cloud services for storing your photos. The most interesting feature of this app is that you can invite friends to view your photos or share your photos with them via email. You might have used many camera apps for iPhone, but this app comes with some advanced features, which the other apps lack.

How to Take Photos and Store them directly to the Cloud:

Download and install the app from the link provided at the end of this post or from the App Store.

Let us see the steps for using this free iPhone app.

How to use the built-in camera:

Simply tap the camera icon at the bottom of the app interface to open up the IceCream camera. This built-in camera captures high-resolution photos and stores them directly to the cloud. The camera has an option to toggle between classic camera mode and shoot-and-send mode. In the classic camera mode, the photos will be stored online if you’re connected to the internet or else the photos will be stored in your camera roll. But the shoot-and-send mode can be used to share your photos with others as soon as you capture them. The following screenshot shows how to use the built-in camera.

How to free up iPhone’s space:

The app tells you how many photos you will be able to capture with the available iPhone’s space. You can free up space by syncing your photos to the cloud and removing them from your camera roll. All of the stored photos in the app will be viewable even when you’re not connected to the internet. The resolution of the photos doesn’t get affected much and the photos remain beautifully optimized when you’re offline. The following screenshot shows the recommendation of freeing up space and number of photos which can be taken using IceCream camera.
How to send and share photos:

You can send up to 20 photos at once to your friends either by email or by inviting them (IceCream users) to your IceCream account. So no more saving photos to your camera roll to share them, as this app allows you to do so directly from the cloud after capturing a photo. When you invite others to your IceCream account, they will be able to see your photos and share their photos with you as well.

How to download original photos:

Whenever you try to download the original photos from the cloud, you will be provided a code via SMS to your registered phone number. As soon as you feed the code in the app, you can download the original photos. In order to keep your photos private and safe, it uses two-factor authentication, which means before you download a photo, you have to feed the code sent to you.

My Final Verdict:

IceCream is definitely one of the best camera apps for iPhone to take photos and sync them directly to the cloud. It helps you free up iPhone’s space without losing your precious photos. Personally, I like this app because it allows us to view our photos even when we are not connected to the internet and also without affecting the resolution much.

Try this app from the link here.

5 Websites Online File Converters To Convert IMAGES, EBOOKS, AUDIOS

These websites will let you convert images, eBooks, audio video files, and documents. So you will find an all in one solution to convert almost any popular file type. Most of these websites support bulk file conversion. Apart from this, you don’t have to insert same type of files for conversion. A huge list of input-output formats are supported by these websites: JPG, SVG, ePub, PBM, PNG, PDF, CSV, RTF, DOC, DOCX, FB2, MP4, MP3, OGG, WMA, TIFF, WEBP, FLV, MPEG, AVI, MOBI, PPT, PPTX, EPS, etc.

Some of these websites also support conversion of archives, say ZIP, 7Z, RAR, TAR, etc. Let’s have a look at these free online file converter websites.

Files-conversion is also a handy website to convert audio video files, eBooks, images, spreadsheets, presentation files, fonts, etc. Unfortunately, only one file can be converted at a time. For images, video files, etc., it also lets you select the output size and quality (if possible).

There are not many features, but it perfectly does file conversion process. Just three steps are needed to convert any file: upload the file, select output format, and convert the file.

CloudConvert (beta) file converter website supports many different file types for conversion, including images, audio video files, documents, and eBooks. You can convert CAD files (DWG and DFX), vector files (AI, EMF, EPS, VSD, etc.), and Fonts (OTF, TTF, WOFF, and EOT). So it is an advanced file converter and supports file types more than any other website in this list. More than 200 formats are supported.

There are many other features available on this website: upload files from OneDrive, Dropbox, and Google Drive, convert multiple files, send download link to email. You can convert files without sign up, but with some limitations. Maximum file size for conversion is 100 MB and maximum 10 minutes time is given to convert a file. However, you can extend file size and conversion limit by creating a free account.

Online-convert.com is the last website in this list and supports one file at a time for conversion. Maximum 100 MB size file is supported by this website. You can upload file from PC, Dropbox, or can upload online file to convert it into a possible output format. Once your file is converted, it will automatically download it to your PC. However, you also have options to save the output file to Dropbox or Google Drive.

Convertio is also a good online file converter website that supports batch conversion. Apart from converting eBooks, audio files, images, it lets you convert archives (7Z, RAR, TAR, JAR, etc.) which is a unique feature. More than 60 file types are supported by this website.

It also comes with features to upload files from Dropbox and Google Drive and send the output files to these cloud storage services. Other interesting features of this website are: send links of output files to desired email address, insert URLs of different online files for conversion, convert different file types together, etc. Unfortunately, video conversion is not possible through this website, but still, it is a handy file conversion website.

DocsPal (beta) is one of the best websites in this list. You can convert 5 different format files at a time and can also enable an option to send the download link of output files to your email address. However, all converted files can also be downloaded to PC one by one. If you want, you can also enter the Url of an online file for conversion.

One more interesting feature is that you can also view any supported file directly from this website which is not possible with any other website. You can upload maximum 50 MB size image, document, and eBook file. And for audio video files, maximum file size is 200 MB.

All uploaded files are automatically deleted after 10 downloads or after 24 hours.

Although a lot more similar websites are available over the web, but these websites are handy to convert different file types, and provide a good platform to convert most of the popular file types.

Microsoft Launched Free Office 2010 online

For a few days Free Office Web Apps are also available for home users. How do you think, is it able to threat the positions of the “ordinary” Office’s which have to be purchased and consumes a large amount of space in your hard disk?
So far, it required the presence of commercial computer hard disk for the saving of Office documents . As you can see from 2003 or later. the package Office Microsoft was not so free as now. This was due to a prerequisite to load plug-ins package to Web browser. This ActiveX control is not however distributed for free and appeared on the disk with installation package. But this changed, because many countries were in a group of 150 new members, which cause the Redmond giant to give the Office Web Apps completely free, and already this week package will be available to all across the globe.
  • In the Office Web Apps there are four popular programs which we all probably know:
  • Word Web App
  • Excel Web App
  • Power Point Web App
  • One Note Web App
  • Office Web Apps idea was to ensure the greatest potential for collaboration on documents, regardless of the operating environment and a computer specifications, from which some one gets access through a browser. I would prefer at this point to focus more on what we can not do in the free office productivity suite from Microsoft. List of “inconvenience”  is below:
  • Limitation of components for the four programs
  • There are no many options for extensive editing of documents to use only basic tools
  • Lack of ability to save documents directly to computer’s hard drive
  • The relatively long response time when editing and developing new tools, especially noticeable on the weaker Internet connections
  • Open documents stored locally requires first save them with Windows Live SkyDrive, which unfortunately increases process
  • As we see, a free Office Web Apps has a lot of restrictions in relation to ‘normal’ Office’s. This makes that normal office suite preferable, which we have on the hard disk of our computer. In my openion Office Web Apps is only suitable for simple editing of documents. It is also possible to reach it when we want fast Apply patches and share a file with someone .
Do you have already tried your hand with Office Web Apps ? If so, what are you impressions of working with free Microsoft office suite online?

Great Flood Predictions

Global warming is all the rage these days, and with 2012 right around the corner, more and more people are talking about the Great Flood. When most people think about the Great Flood, their minds manufacture images of Noah’s Ark, the Hindu story of Manu, or the harrowing Epic of Gilgamesh. Yes, the Great Flood myth is widespread among many cultures and is mostly about a huge flood that comes and destroys civilization. If a massive flood were to occur, what would it look like, and what cities and countries would be the first to “drown?”
Pleasant thoughts, ay? For your demented viewing pleasure, here are a collection of images that depict a modern Great Flood. There’s even a world map that shows what regions the water would fill.

If this happens maybe we’ll manage to live under the water. The statues that that call the famed underwater museum their home are able to cope with it quite handily. I don’t know; maybe life underwater wouldn’t be so bad. The crab Sebastian in The Little Mermaid seemed to enjoy it. He got on all fours and went into a song about it in the 1989 flick.
Under the sea
Nobody beat us
Fry us and eat us
In fricassee
Maybe he had a point, ay? Should we rethink the whole premise of our existence? Maybe a great flood that knocks out half the cities in the world and forces us to build an underwater empire is actually desirable. Dolphins seem to live a carefree life of splendor. Bottom-feeders on the other hand–not so much.  Which kind of makes me wonder what sort of drugs the Sebastain crab was on when he sang that song. “Nobody beat us?”  Um, actually, you get killed and eaten quite often.
But, obviously, humans wouldn’t be bottom-feeders if we lived under the sea. No, no. We would dominate. Maybe we should brace for a world where the fiction of an underwater society becomes a reality.

10 Fascinating Floating City Concept

With both population and man’s greed for money increasing at galloping speed, land mass on earth is turning into concrete jungle. People have already felt the pinch of property prices rising skywards which is due to shortage of space in urban areas. So it dawned upon few brains that lets plunge into the water bodies for is occupies as much as 70% of earth’s surface. And voila, we have Gyre, the Floating City Concept which will rest on humongous oceans and create a new space for modern human civilization.

Here’s the 10 most amazing albeit convincing concepts of floating cities.

1. Embassy of Drowned Nations: Floating City:
The Embassy of Drowned Nations, in Fort Denison, Australia, is specifically designed for people who have lost their homes to rising sea levels. But it not all about the ‘poetic justice’; this innovative conception also incorporates the inverted design which causes it to sink deeper into the harbor when the water level rises, while at the same time exposing new land in the center of the refuge.

2. BOA – A sustainable floating city:
The Boston Arcology (BOA) will be designed to provide safe and most importantly dry living space to over 15,000 people after the ‘post apocalyptic’ scenario of rising ocean levels washing away our cities. The floating city will provide housing along with other services such as hotels, offices, retail, museums, condominiums and a city hall.

3. Green Float – A carbon negative floating city:
A motley crew of scientists, engineers in Japan have embarked upon this momentous project, which aims to build a tower that is 1km tall and has a vertical farm counteracted on a floating concrete pad!

4. Lilypad – A green safe haven of the future:
The Lilypad will be constructed as a luxurious retreat for climatic refugees in the year 2100. Though inspired by Noah’s Ark, nothing will be ancient about the advanced green technology used here. The lower half of this floating city will be submerged in water, while the upper half will protrude above to harness the abundant solar energy.

5. Harvest City In Haiti”:
Thought of as solution to house the affected people of the recently earthquake ravaged Haiti, this innovative, gem of an idea by architect E. Kevin Schopfer and Tangram 3DS, is much more than damage control. The idea promotes the ambitious vision of – a number of floating island cities constituting of a 30,000 strong self sufficient community, all regenerated by several imbued agricultural and industrial facilities.

6. Floating City in Russia:
The Eco-Techno City is conceived as a floating mega city built on an elaborate framework of numerous small man-made islands. The main residential hub will be located in a central 500 ft ‘green’ skyscraper featuring vertical farms, solar panels and even rainwater collectors. This skyscraper will be surrounded by recreational and service zones on the outer perimeter.

7. Gyre- A Floating City Concept for Modern Human Civilization:
Contrived by home design studio Zigloo, this enterprising design would incorporate a ’sky’-scraper, named as the Gyre at a depth of 400m under water. The arduous conception will cover an area of more that 40 football fields with completely self-sufficient working and living zones.

8. Freedom Ship City concept:
Fundamentally this concept calls for a moving city-vessel in the sea albeit with gargantuan dimensions. This mobile floating behemoth will have a length of 4,500 feet, a width of 750 feet, and a height of 350 feet. The city will feature ostentatious living conditions, a duty free shopping mall and a commercial zone encompassing an area of more than 1.7 million sq ft!

9. Water-scraper – A Self-Sufficient City at Sea:
Water-scraper epitomizes the very evolutionary end result of green technology. The city will generate its own electricity by using wave, wind, solar power and even kinetic energy. Moreover there will be farms, a small forestland along with well defined quarters for working and living of people.

10. Floating City Concept by Ahearn Schopfer Architects:
Designed by Ahearn Schopfer Architects and located in New Orleans, this impressive conception is a perfect ‘floating’ amalgamation of residential and commercial zone. The grandiose design features 20,000 housing units at an average of 1,100 sq ft, three hotels, 1,500 time-share units and 500,000 sq ft of retail space. Also included are three casinos, 500,000 sq ft of commercial condominiums, parking for 8,000 cars, a school, 100,000 sq ft of cultural facilities and a 20,000 sq ft health facility.
